**** Exam Prayers ****

As in previous years, please can we ask you to pray for our young people in this exam season. They begin this week, so please pray for those sitting exams and revising.  The specific exams I know of this week are:

    Tuesday 16th - Rhiannon:  Sociology

    Wednesday 17th - Rhiannon:  Maths and History

    Wednesday 17th - Bea: Maths

If there are others I haven’t had the specific dates of, please let me know and we can add them.  Thanks.

Christian Aid Week…

Is this week….  Please do consider taking any spare envelopes and praying that folks will take the time to consider whether giving a gift and then return the envelope to church.

 

Perton Manor

Our next service at Perton Manor Residential Home is on Thursday at 11am. Do come and join us.

 

Quiz Night

Come and join us for a fun evening at The Church At Perton on Friday at 7.30pm. The quiz is being hosted by members of the Mothers’ Union and all funds raised (£1 per person and there’ll also be a raffle) will be donated to the MY’s “Away From It All” project which provides short holidays for families who are struggling. Please bring your own drinks and nibbles. We look forward to seeing you there. May the best team win!

 

One Event at Lichfield Cathedral

On Saturday, 11am-1pm: Come Follow Christ - First Steps. Bishop Michael will lay out a new direction of travel for the diocese.

Messy Church

Our next Messy Church is on Monday 22nd May from 3.30pm.  Come along for Bible story, crafts, games, songs and tea together as a family.

 

Midweek Communion

Our next Midweek Service of Holy Communion is on Ascension Day, Thursday 25th May, at 11am.

 

Ascension Day

We are having a service for Ascension Day on Thursday 25th May at 7.30pm. Please come along as we mark this important day, and begin our 24 hours of prayer.

 

24 Hours Of Prayer - Thy Kingdom Come

The Archbishops of Canterbury and York have launched an initiative called, “Thy Kingdom Come” - asking every church in the land to set aside some time during the week after Pentecost, to pray for our country.  We are going to hold a 24 hour prayer event… This will begin on Thursday 25th May, 7.30pm with our Ascension Day Service, and will continue through 24 hours, finishing on the Friday evening with Saints.  There will be posters with additional information and a sheet to sign up for an hour of prayer very soon… watch this space!

 

Another Event at Lichfield Cathedral

On Sunday 4th June, 4-7pm: Thy Kingdom Come - Cathedral Beacon Event. Praise and Worship, prayer stations, compline by candlelight, anointing and commissioning, bring a picnic.

Our 4pm Sunday evening service of contemporary worship, bible reading, discussion and prayer, takes place on Sunday 21st May.

Encourage Festival

Celebrating God’s Call to Us All…  a mini music and arts festival at Shallowford House, Stone on 23rd July. 1pm onwards.  Featuring:  Revd Kate Bottley, Long For The Coast, Born Again Beatles plus talks, bands, poetry, visual arts, crafts great food and drink all day.  Tickets:  in advance - adult £10, under 14s free.  On the Day - adult £15, under 14s £5.  Available online at:  encouragefestival.co.uk
